A good idea that needs fixing

In 1994, California voters made a resounding statement about criminals who repeatedly committed violent crimes after getting second and third chances. Enough. No more violence. Send these criminals to prison for a long time.

Three strikes Voters appear to support Prop. 66, which would limit sentencing under the three-strikes law. Voters appear ready to change the state's "three strikes" law, a new Field Poll shows. . Nearly 70 percent said they would vote for Proposition 66, which amends the law to require that only convictions for violent or serious felonies be counted as a "strike." "People seem to think it is a reasonable compromise," said Mark DiCamillo, director of the Field Poll.
